Plural form of the nouns

1. To make most nouns plural, add (s). ex: one rose , two roses

2. Add  (es) to nouns ending in sh, ch, ss, x.
ex: one dish , two dishes ; one match, two matches ; one class, two classes ; one box, two boxes 

3. If a noun ends in a consonant (y) change (y) to (i) and add (es)
ex: one baby , two babies. NOTE: if (y) is preceeded by a vowel add only (s). ex: boy, boys

4.If a noun ends in (f) or (fe) change the ending to (ves)
NOTE: exceptions: beliefs, chiefs, roofs, cuffs.
ex: one knife , two knives ; one shelf, two shelves

5. The plural form of nouns thet end in (o) is sometimes (oes) and sometimes (os)
ex: (oes) tomatoes, potatoes , heroes , echoes.
ex: (os) zoos, radios, studios, pianos, photos,

6. Some nouns have irregular plural forms:
child, children ; foot, feet ; tooth, teeth ; mouse, mice ; man, men ; woman, women;  person, people ; goose, geese

7. The plural form of some nouns is the same as the singular form.
ex: deer, deer ; fish , fish; sheep, sheep; species, species

8. Some nouns from  other language have foreign plurals.
ex: bacterium , bacteria; cactus, cacti; crisis, crises ; phenomenon, phenomena
